Personalized Messages

This is similar to the old post that ACDC revived recently, but different, so I think it deserves its own thread...

I would like to see personalized entrance and exit messages...

Have the old ones set as a default:
JabberWockee has joined the game.
JabberWockee has returned to reality.

Then allow the player to edit it in the F2 Menu to something like this:
JabberWockee monster approaches!
JabberWockee has been defeated! The party has earned 200 Exp points.

Yeah, I'm a DragonQuest freak, but whatever...

Still, I think personalized messages would be cool...

You may even go so far as to be able to edit PK messages... Pick how you kill someone, instead of just 'ruthlessly killed'

MysticBat has just been painfully pwn't by JabberWockee.
MysticBat has just been overwhelmingly outmatched by JabberWockee.

I guess we could set a character limit though. Also a cap limit too.

Well, I didn't necessarily mean putting all of that...: "ruthlessly, remorselessly, and viciously assualted and killed"

I meant more like you have 2 things in the F2 menu for each of the two words. Maybe put a 12 letter limit on them.

That way people wouldn't do stuff like that, kyo...

Plus, I'm sure somewhere there would be a way to keep all of the letters in lower case.

And maybe like a 30-40 character limit in entrance/exit messages.

And perhaps a swear block of some sort? I can see this being abused.

Yeah... Rules would apply to these as well, just like chat messages.

But definately a perma-swear block on the personalize messages.

If it gets implimented, it would definately need a good solid set of regulations... and people would need to know that they cant abuse it... personally i dont care either way, but i do see it getting abused
