Quest Untold website
Still under construction
=======================================================
Alright, I've just decided that I wanted to make a fan based Quest game called Quest - Untold.
Of course it'll be a simple RPG so dont expect too much out of it.
Before you get excited no one will be the main character, except for the one that Dhite created already.
(Female Lead role Wink) Although there will be quest characters in here that may join, fight or even give you a quest to do.
Remember any of this can be changed at any time. So don't expect for it to be exactly as I say.

There will be 1 main land : Llirrem.
Which will be divided into Llirrem, Rothar, Velgrad and Noslin.
ATB system will be used, similar to the one on Quest.

If you wanna make a somewhat custom char
Make sure you save it and post a link to it.

So if you want one of your characters to be in it and be part of the storyline post here.
Please use this as a reference :

Name :
Age :
Sex :
Race :
Height/weight :
Weapon :
Class :
Description of what char. looks like : (If you have an image and or sprite of it that's even better)
Background info : (no need to name towns, villages, etc..)

==================================================================

More info, story, screenshots of this later on.
(FYI I'll be using RPGMaker XP for this project)
Here's an example of the sprite sheet:

==================================================================
Things I'll be adding/wishlist :
Skill shop : (Pending) (Implemented)
Instead of gaining skills from leveling, here, you'll be able to purchase special skills. Of course you'll get afew skills by leveling but the key point to having this shop is to urge you to strive to get these unique skills for your class.

Active Time Battle(ATB) : (ADDED)
As previously mention this'll be similar to the current one on quest.

Heads Up Display(HUD) : (REMOVED)
You'll be able to see your HP/SP on the map.

Custom Level Up Display(CLD) : (ADDED)
Each time you lvl up, it will display what gets enhanced and by how much.

Monster Arena : (PRemoved)
Like to gamble?

Reputation System : (ADDED)
Build a good reputation doing small quests, or loss reputation by doing bad deeds.
Join a clan, and lose respect from an opposing clan. You decide.

Crafting System : (Pending)
ok this idea is still pending since I'm not sure if I should add it. If I get enough response then, I'll add it in.

Day/Night System : (ADDED)
Similar to the one on quest. Not sure if i will implement it.
More to be added if suggestions arise.

Display Map Name : (ADDED)
Just adds the map name on the bottom right corner.

Display NPC Name : (ADDED)
Self explanitory. Check the teaser to find out.

Thanks Fang and Kain for testing it.

Quest Untold the Parody of Quest Untold
FangReils decided to make a parody of the teaser. (v2)
Play at your own risk.
===========================================================
===========================================================
Files that might be needed. (The DLL file, I will be adding for the next teaser/demo)

RGSS102E.dll
Please download this file if you get an error. Make sure to put in C:\Windows\System 32

it seems that still some people get errors concerning the RTP-RGSS Standard.
RGSS Standard
NOTE : I forgot to add a file to it, so some of you may not be able to play it.
I'll add the file here soon.

Name: Rilek "Fang" Reilsoah
Age: 26
Sex: Male
Height/weight:  6 feet 8 inches / 248 lbs.
Weapon:  Battle axes / War hammers
Description of what char. looks like:   Strange tiger stripe markings cover all over his body and his pale green eyes are cold and his black to green hair has grown down to his shoulders. He wears a simple cloth tunic enchanted with powerful magic granting it almost the same amount of protection of a suit of chainmail while allowing him greater mobility. Another thing strange about him is he wears a obsidian-coated plate pauldron attached to another obsidian-coated platemail arm guards down to his wrist where a rune that reads 'Fear' is etched onto his flesh. He wears a set of greaves made from the same obsidian-coated platemail over a pair of black silk pants and thick bear hide boots.
Background info: Fang comes from a tribal race of savage warriors that value strength and the tribe above all else. He set out on a journey to finish the ritual of becoming a man. He received the name "Fang" from the tribe he comes from due to him ripping the fangs right out of a demons mouth and thrusting them into the beasts heart.

Name: Hjorleif Alsonz
Age: 24
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Height: 5'8" - 145lbs.
Weapon: Thin, saber-like sword, aids casting.
Class: Wizard/summoner/fighter.
Character description: Hjorleif isn't actually all that heavy into casting, usually the most he'll do is summon something and then go off attacking like he's some kind of warrior. He's not really all that tough, or all that intelligent. His main asset is his versatality. He can fight to a certain degree, cast the spells that sometimes make the peoples fall down, cast the spells that make the small booboos go away, and summon silly little creatures that aren't all that helpful. He gets a little confused when summoning, and instead of a flesh-ravaging ghoul or something beefy, he usually ends up with a walking cat that is only moderately useful, or something of the like, maybe a badger.
Hjorleif wears very light armor, so that when he does need to cast, he isn't too encumbered by heavy plates or the like. His armor is a mixture of white and black, predominantly white. His hair is long-ish and brown, usually in a ponytail. He wears glasses, if glasses exist in your game world, if not, he has problems seeing. (He probably still would have problems seeing even if glasses do exist, actually.)
He is very, very aloof and friendly, and surprisingly witty, despite his lack of actual intelligence otherwise. If someone insults or threatens him, he can usually turn it back on them in some kind of silly retort that confuses them or at least raises some eyebrows. Hjorleif is very compassionate, and if fighting human opponents, he'll try his best not to kill them, and is usually the first to come to his team-mate's aid.
(Sorry. I get sick of seeing super powerful/ultra intelligent/invincible/magically mysterious characters. It's too cliché. I thought I'd give you someone a little generic.)
Character Background: Hjorleif, due to his aloof, unfocused nature, is naturally self-tought to a certain point in most areas. He can fight only a little better than a mage, because he never recieved any actual warrior training, he can heal/cast/summon a lot worse than actual characters of those classes because he never sat down and studied/prayed/offered to the correct gods to actually be quite good in those areas.
He comes from a rather large city, where individuality didn't mean much, and is essentially traveling to find friends. Nothing more than that.
(I figured I'd give you a little bit of artistic license. As long as you don't vary horribly from the description of his personality, what you do with him or where you place him won't bother me any. Wherever works best.)

Just to note: This will be my hybrid whenever I start playing Quest again, the silly summoning is more of a character point I'll throw in if I ever D&D'ify this character. He'll obviously be a bard, who completely ignores his singing abilities, unless of course I find a way to make that goofy and fit the character. (Ha, make a silly bard? Like that'll be hard.)

EDIT - Oh, SF, for a reference of what the armor basically looks like, go to http://www.ivory-tower.de/ and load up a Human mystic in A grade light armor -> Tallum.

Azmo, you have my respects for making a character like this.
This is the first character that I've seen made like this. I'm glad it was you who made it like this.
Now I'll make you the most valuable asset to the game...(Hidden char? maybe?)

Heh, you should see some of my D&D characters. Most of them are made specifically to be mediocre and amusing. Not that I don't enjoy a serious roleplay, but I hate min/maxing or power gaming.

Note:
Uggms - he was the greatest melee force I've ever made. 26-ish STR, 17 DEX, and 20-something CON at level five dual-wielding fullblades that do 2d8 per hit, in full plate mail. But...not all that useful considering if a butterfly caught his fancy in the middle of a fight he'd get distracted and start prancing around and giggling.
Aledrynn Bloodsails - Think Johnny Depp in PotC, but without the good plans or being really skilled at anything. The only thing Aledrynn had going for him was that he was horribly, horribly suave. My girlfriend played a drunk wizard who absolutely swooned for him. Good times. (Fighter/rogue, with mostly balance, tumble, and skills like that. Focus on Dex, so weapon finesse, disarm, etc.)
Sash - Halfling illusionist. Chaotic Neutral NPC later turned PC for another game. He comes up with super elaborate dungeons, illusions, and plans, only to leave a horribly obvious flaw in every single one of them. Each and every one stretches the very boundaries of magic, but his deficit in planning usually resulted in failure.

It's just not any fun for me if my character is made to be some über beastly destroyer type.

EDIT - Oh, and my DM knew about Uggms' little fascination, so if we were having a fight too easy or something...Eh, he'd do what was necessary to even the odds.

Reminds me of when I played D&D =] I had a few rather strange characters... Like a rogue I had made had a split personality and would end up attacking himself every now and then. A sorcerer I made found a chicken and named it 'Cluck, The Mighty Fire Breathing Dragon-Chicken' and ended up hiding behind it when monsters were near.. Yeah.. XD

Btw the crafting system seems interesting, would be sweet if you could take an old weapon and use items that drop from monsters to upgrade the weapon instead of hording all the money you find for upgrades.

well the crafting system is actually something like that.
Where you can craft something from raw materials.
Make weapons, armors, etc..although I never thought about using weapons, and upgrading them to something stronger with the crafting system I have (not implemented yet). But like I said, I'll take it into consideration once the game gets further into production.

EDIT
Here's a screenshot of the crafting system :
Azmo, XTW .. you'll notice the itmes are too familiar Wink

firstly, ninjabeast, i will not accept that entry since it is a previously made character. Naruto.
Second, there is no website for the game. This is strictly a fan based RPG.

It's kinda funny 'cause he calls himself "Ninjabeast" but he probably doesn't know the first thing about what ninja are really like.

In topic related news, SF, do you have any plans on an actual storyline or are you just working on layout first?

Open-ended, eh? Like ones of those do it when you feel like it games? I like those games 'cause I sit there and make myself uber-strong on side-quests and whatnot then breeze through the main-story stuff >>
