I believe there should be new ultra rare items (can all them mystic) Smiley because

in Quest now Supers from Noslin are virtually unbuyable( 20bil !!) and with new ultra rare items

they could make the better players even better and make supers affordable and make it a little

easier for noobs to get out of Llirrem  Wink    (  I started about 2 days ago and i cant kill anything past

Rothar(11k hp monsters) with all level 8 gear at level 110!!! )  This could bring down the price of

Supers and make it easier for noobs   Undecided          and how do u get a picture?Huh   j/w

Allow me to let you in on a little secret. When I first started out, I was given a freebie and a bit of gold. Looking back I sort of wish that I hadn't got that, but I did. It was a Rare Monstrous Claws and a few hundred thousand gold. I appreciated it at the time. (Notice how that is far from getting complete level 8 gear) But now I realize that I had played on my own from the very beginning. But that's not the point. Here's my problem:

I played for practically two weeks straight when I first started out. In that time, I found not one rare, and I only attained level 90. This was with a fighter. But do you know what I thought? I thought it was so awesome, and that I was doing really good for a beginner. It took me months to get where I am, and I did so with haste, as I understand it. My highest level character is level 384 currently. I am amazed at how fast I've done this, but I know that it is not me alone that is to hold the glory. Many people helped me along the way, and for that I am both grateful and sorry. Grateful, I am to those who took the time and effort to help me. Sorry, I am to those who worked their hinds off from the very beginning to get to where they are.

In addition, I recently got extremely lucky. I found my first rare on that character, which was amazingly a Protector of Velgrad. With a trade that I concluded as somewhat of a helping hand as well, I was able to attain the final stretch of the level he is at today.

What I am trying to say is this. Many beginners come along and all of a sudden demand from the game that it give them what they want. I have expressed my feelings toward those who do not try to set them off right, and now I express my feelings to those who don't appreciate what they have been given. I'm only going to say this to help you...You are doing extremely well, and should be wholly proud of your accomplishments thus far. You're doing great, and there is no hurry to do any better. If you keep working at it, then you will soon find that positive results will come to fruition.

What I'm saying is, congratulations for your accomplishments, and I hope that with the right attitude you can continue the trend. But please, you are doing well, and it takes time to get out of Rothar. Trust me. You'll have your chance. And if you need something...just ask. I'll do what I can to make up for those who gave what they had to help me. Do we have a deal? Smiley Smiley Smiley

Actually i got helped very much in the beginning DracoFire gave me 2mil in the beginning.
but the reason i got my level 8's was pure luck i must say i found 2 rare elven wines and in turn traded them for 20mil( go figure) and i was able to buy a rare demon's skull mace from Draco for 18mil which left me with around 4mil and all of a sudden.. out of nowhere.. a guy sold his rare sp to the shop and it was up for grabs for 500k... so i took it Grin

Hmm...Likety's selling spree most likely. But anyway. You're a fighter. Don't expect to get out of Rothar for a long long time unless you find a super or two. It took my mage forever to get out of Rothar and in to Velgrad, and mages fight bejesusly higher monsters than fighters, so eh.

I gave you 2mil? then there's no way you started 2 days ago cause I haven't given money away in years, not since the economy got all screwed up :S

oh, and so you know, my first char wasn't out of rothar at lvl 314. At which point I started DracoFire and didn't play Lyr again until I had a super...so Ionno how long it would've taken her to get out of there normally.

I AM NOOB, HEAR ME ROAR.

im relitively new (december) and i have somthing to say

i agree about not being given stuff. I had been given some gifts from people to help me get my first clan, and items given to me to help get me started, but i think that ha i needed to work to find my weapons it could have helped me learn the rarity of items (rares).

Even with my stuff getting to rothar tool like a week, andyou spend a LONG FRIGGIN TIME there. I can probabally map from memory every inch of rothar. It seems i spent a lot less time in velgrad in comparison, but those are the breaks.

anyways, consider yourself lucky you have what you have. Before i got what i have now i had to EARN the gold to buy my lvl 8's at about 25 mills a pop, so you have it easy. Looking back if i hadnt gotten the breaks to get what i have now (i was extremely lucky being on at the right times) i would STILL be in rothar.

be happy with what you have, and just you try starting a new "legit" char. Dont transfer any items, dont accept charity, dont buy items except non rares in the main shop and see how hard it is for you. you wont be complaining for a ultra super rare, you would be wishing for a rare in general. lol

personally i think that people should not be able to tradeanything over a lvl 6 to people under lvl 150 just so they need to work to get what they have, but thats just me. Anyways, i ranted long enough. You can see where i stand. im forgetting somthing. Oh well. Its late. godnight.

still why not add a higher class of rare maybe only on lvl7 or higher monster and 1/1000000000 chance of finding it might make things a bit more interesting just to know theyre out there

Ok. I'll sum it up for you New-I3oi.

NO, Get the hell away from this stupid idea. Go dig a hole and stick your head in it and let all them ideas out in the hole, then fill up the hole once again and never return.
Once you've played as long as I have then you might have some reason to complain 'bout not being able to get somewhere. I've yet to even find a super for as long as I've been playin.

Bear05 :
Look, as bad as Quest has gotten (well I wouldnt say bad, but there are alot of new people who are a bunch of slags), like I said to New before you decide to make a suggestion on this level, please take the time to get to know the game completely. If you notice, I still have yet to find a super at lvl 800+. The idea of adding an "Ultra" rare item on mobs lvl 7 and above is not that great since the system wouldnt be balanced between mages/fighters. Mages can fight higher lvl mobs awhole lot quicker than fighters can, which would probably lead to more Mage type charas, and reduce the amount of PK/PvP.

gah .. its pointless trying to make a decent post now. It doesnt matter how much people explain to the new people about this crap..it probably wont get through. . bunch of slags they are.

slag with a college degree working on a doctorate.
it was just an idea i had after reading the thread.
the only people offended by ideas are those that can't form their own.

Or the same people that have heard the same useless ideas kicked around forever.

Look at it this way:
New players complain because it's too hard.
Old players complain because it's too easy.

The way I see it, that's about as good as it's going to get. That's how it goes in every other game. The people who have been playing forever have anything they want, can give free handouts, and can equip several characters with the best at the same time. New players on the other hand, have quite a bit to work for.

Both sides want what they want without thinking of the balance of the game. I'd love to see super and rare chances slashed to maybe a fourth of what they are now, with a full wipe, but new players would rather have the drop rates quadrupled under the same economy.

So look at it this way. 1/440,000 chance of a super, 1/110,000, or 1/27,500? Oldbies who are inflated with gold want it the first way, newbies who aren't want it the last, therefore wouldn't a compromise seem best? That's where the current drop rate comes in. Learn to like it.

EDIT - Oh, and I don't have a super either, so even try to say my view is altered because of that.
If you're really having so many problems without a super, make a mage. I was in Noslin at level 300. (E-wand + SP)

Exactly. See that final Note that Azmo did. Lvl 300 mage with an E-Wand and SP, a fighter with any lvl 8 weapon/amor at that lvl probably wouldnt be able to survive long enough in Noslin. As I said in me previous post : If they were to do that for lvl 7 and lvl 8 mobs, Quest would turn into a mage frenzy just to find these "Ultra" rares. So once again, keep in mind that once you've played this game long enough, come back and make a decent suggestion about this crap.

I'm not saying its a bad idea, I'm saying its a stupid idea.
No. Actually I'm saying both.

well if you're worried about the balance of mages vs. fighters you could nake them drop from anythin lvl 1-8 at 1 in a trillion.  it'd give you vets something new to strive for.  just a suggestion

oh and if it were to happen, and i said IF, dont complain when somebody gets one on their first fight.  Grin

But the very fact that a new player can find it in their first fight is extremely problematic. Go read the horror stories back when supers dropped on all mobs about new players getting scammed out of super weapons/armors just because they didn't know any better.

That isn't an insult at the Quest community itself, as QOs, much like any moderators in any other game, take a very hands-off approach to trading or even uninformed trades. As long as in-game goods are involved, MMORPGs rarely take a stand against scamming.

Needless to say, those people that will scam new players will always be there, and when a social, friendly, respectable new player gets scammed and quits Quest forever, the community is hurt, and Quest is about the community, not about the rares or the game, if you think about it. Some people play to get on the lists, or get powerful, or PK, but most of us are just here for the people we know and enjoy talking to, and the mild entertainment the game offers while conversation is at a lower point.

And again, it's another balance issue. If a level one magically finds a super ultra magical smashinating god-like rare of ultimate power, what's to stop him from killing everything he sees? In my opinion the game is too equipment-dependent as is and drops give a much greater change to your power than actual skill buiding or leveling ever will (HoN = ~828 levels, not counting the 3 stat/level limit.). Throwing in the ability for a level one character to find a weapon that might be worth a respective 2k in levels is just silly. And when I say something is silly...well...it's pretty silly.

i agree its silly and really im against it to, i just went off on a tangent based on the start of the thread.
but i enjoy debate and work with idoits so i often take positions i disagree with just to argue.
