Well, I haven't even really played with mages in this new build, and even though the last post was a ridiculously long time ago, I still think it stands that this is in need of an update.  But not only to cover mages.  I think I'm going to make a giant quest guide a huge project.  Anyone interested in helping out?

Well, if you can't tell we're running on bare bones with a skeleton staff and players.  If you still have motivation I'd be glad to update Azmodon's post and make sure it's get noticed on the website / MOTD.

---

WOW I'm amazed!  Azmodon started this guide in 2006, kydenn posted in 2007 and now you're back 3 years later!?!? *faints*  I'm getting inspired here to release an update even if it's just bug fixes.  I need to find out the current priority list -- what would be really nice would be to know is what players want most that will require the least amount of work/time :-)

What brings you back after so long!?

Well to be honest every game except Quest sucks.

That's the gist of it : )

Oh you want to know some simple potential changes? Because I think I could open the floodgates in the Suggestions area. Oh by the way, have you figured out what boots you need to be wearing to afford the server the proper motivational kick?  I'm itching for a fix.

EDIT:: Not that the game isn't great as it is.  I'm just in the idea spitting mood if you know what I mean ; )

indeed Alexis, dont mean to thread jack but a return of old school supers would be nice. Something that is very hard to find but ridiculously good if you do find one. I know that its what kept me playing for a long time.

The issue is trying to balance supers with jeweling now. I know its a tricky issue that has been brought up before and I'm not entirely sure how to fix it. I think the issues you run into are should an old school super have a level requirement? If it does, then that kind of changes the mystique of the old supers, if they do not have a lvl requirement, like boss drops do, then it would be impossible to mod them with jewels.

I know I would like to see it resolved by making them incredibly powerful, with awe inspiring mods so that when you do hit that 1-100k chance of finding one it is worth it. Another idea that I liked was making them a unique item, maybe like an item that instead of breaking when it is jeweled, it just loses all its mods. This would create a huge market for all supers, even the lower level ones. Another idea that I have heard floated around was giving a bonus for having a set of gear from a particular land, like a bonus for using the protector and wep, something along those lines.

While it is a bit dated and contains a pretty bad idea right at the very end, this thread talks about this issue-http://www.questrpg.org/forum/index.php/topic,2557.0.html
