Inactivity Sweeps - Heads up on main site?

i know every once in a blue moon you do a sweep for old abondoned chars... those that have no activity for a period of time (i think its a month)

well some ppl dont know this, or they go on vacation, or whatever... i just thought it would be a good idea on the main site to have a post saying somthing along the lines of "the next inactivity sweep will be on such-and-such a date"

this would prevent ppl who are active and just focusing on one account for the moment from losing their other accounts...

good idea or what could happen is you just get an email from quest every month or so and you have to click and activation link or log on to keep your account active..

ya but some ppl dont check their e-mail that often.

Oh what could happen is when they do a sweep they could remove the last 50 ppl that have not loggod in and send THEM an e-mail, that way if they just forgot where quest was they could come back, and if they didnt care they could ignore the message... but having everyone need to click a link to stay active is prolly not the best way to go...

woah theres a lotta ppl registered on the forums too... maybe the forums need an "inactivity sweep" for ppl who haven't posted in years... for instance zeo666 Last Active:  April 10, 2005, 10:22:01 PM.....

but perhaps a message on the main site where you have to enter your username & pass??
then your account stays active??

well we dont want it to be an inconvenience to the whole quest community. the idea of the warning is for ppl to know that hey theres a sweep comin up better log into the chars i wanna keep. Those who get tagged by the sweep would get an e-mail saying u have a week to log in or be deleted, that way not everyone gets an e-mail and its easier on all of us...

the less everyone needs to do the happier they are

yup yup email &message on site.... you can log in on site just to escape the inactivity ban for when quest isnt going on your comp
