Well...I think I've had just about all that I can take of alot of crap. so you guys get my opinion, and here it comes.
I'm sick of people running off new people by acting superior.
I'm sick of people who have been around for years acting like making this their world somehow makes them better than anyone who hasn't been around for years.
I'm really, really tired of people who have nothing better to do than crack on peoples idea, language, grammer, concepts, etc. on these forums.
let me make clear, this is my opinion as a player...NOT as admin.
I don't know admin's opinion on it.
What I do know, is I've watched the last person walk away from this game and these forums because of attitude from people who have damned well been around long enough to know better.
If Shiris or ronin wants to delete this they can.
Spare me your replies.
See you guys around.

Well, here's what I think...
Days since someone was assaulted here: 0
Maybe that's an overstatement, but I can run through this forum and pick a handful of threads where one person goes off topic, then some sort of debate/arguement starts up. Seriously people, what's going on here? I'm not going to name names, but you know who you are. If someone posts something you don't like, you can always send a private message to that board's moderator to do something about it. If someone attacks someone else, I don't think it gives you the right to do the same. Heck, I've probably involved with some arguement or another, and for that, I'm sorry. But enough is enough.
[I didn't think this deserved it's own topic]

And it's welcome right here, Kyo. Thank you. I'm glad to see the other admin feeling like I am about this. So pay attention guys. That's four of us, here...saying enough is enough.
Let that be enough to change the tides, okay?

*Ahem* I know you said that this needed not a reply, Tina, but I have been waiting for the opportune moment to say this. In the short time that I've been a member of the Quest community, I have seen more people come and go than I would have thought possible. I am not exactly certain as to the reasons behind this onslaught of character creation/abandonment (not necessarily deletion.) But what I do know is that it doesn't help when a person who may have not been signed on for months decides to come around and attack the first "beginner" he or she sees. Before he or she has logged in, it is not known that the beginner in question may have spent a few days playing Quest, and is really enjoying both the game and the community. Not only that, but the beginner is starting to become proud of his/her character. That is when a "veteran" or even sometimes just a higher level character shoots that player's confidence down. This may sound ridiculous to some, but it does happen. Think about it. There is a highly varying range of ages of Quest players, and accompanying that range is a different level of both maturity and tolerance levels. I will not be so bold to say whether older or younger players are more or less tolerant or more or less mature, but I will make it indefinately clear that there is a variation in both. Concurrently, there are issues with some players who for one reason or another refuse to help beginners with simple questions. I understand that it is the individual player's decision to either answer or not answer a given question, and I also know that there are references for the game elsewhere. In accordance with that knowledge, it is clear that a beginner is able to turn to many sources on his/her own. But the fact of the matter is this. Sometimes, a person may have not, for one reason or another, captured knowledge of such sources, or perhaps that knowledge has temporarily slipped their minds. And it is completely appropriate to redirect those questions to one of those sources, but apparently even this is sometimes too much to ask for some players. When questions are answered or redirected, they are usually from only a QO or a player who has also recently begun. Why is it, that unless you have the title of QO, that you can't answer a simple question? I don't understand it at all. This is not an attack on anyone, for there are those who do what they can to support beginners to Quest, such as give answers, or make guides to help them along the way, but I feel that this is not done sufficiently at all times. In addition, the guides that people have made may not be enough, or may not contain the particular answers a player is looking for. If that is the case, then it is only fair that someone give him/her what he/she needs, but unfortunately this is not always done. This may seem like a minor problem, if one at all, but I think that it has some weight on a player's decision to stick around. Lastly, I want to close with something a little bold, but of absolute importance. When QO's are not present, apparently some people do not think that it is not their job to keep chat safe for others. I am not supporting something as authoritarian as a martial community, but when QO's are not present, people can sometimes simply stop caring that their fellow players are people. I know this because I, myself have taken advantage of the lack of QO presence. But consequently, I know that I said things that were inappropriate, that could possibly have offended someone. I'm not saying that it isn't all right to speak your mind, but the rules aren't a joke. I am not a supporter of authority on many levels, but when it comes to the harboring of, or exhibition of hatred or blunt meanness toward others, then I have to put my foot down. "It's only breaking the law if you get caught" is an idea to be implemented on your own time, not on someone else's, which means that if an action or statement offends someone, then it is your responsibility to make amends for it, and furtherly to ensure that you do not let such things slip. We are all before we are one in the Quest Community. That is, and always will be my opinion on the matter. It should not be taken for granted that the rules can only be enforced by someone of station, and if someone of such nature is not around, then it is individually our responsibility to speak up when someone crosses over the line, with appropriate courtesy, of course. It's not a horde of empty rules that hold together quest players, its a friendship that I won't watch be severed by members of it. I am no one of particular importance, but I have seen too many people leave us and it is something I refuse to "just watch" any longer.
(Sorry if I spoke a little to loudly, if you know what I mean. I'm not out to get anyone..)

I guess it was kind of long, lol
I was in a zone. I get that way sometimes. I can't really help myself...and though I don't really remember every single word, as I did not even proofread it (hence the disclaimer at the bottom), I know that I meant every word of it.

Hroth..I have to call you out here. You wanna see this changed? I personally watched you pk noobs on their way out of town a couple weeks ago for over an hour. To the point where i had to kill you myself just to knock you back a bit. Is that your idea of 'welcoming noobs'?
Now I'm not saying there's anything wrong with PK. We all know it's part of the game. But don't sit here and be all 'I'm the good guy..I'm the welcome wagon' you're not. You're as guilty as anyone else...

Well... you all here me rant constantly and Tina has listened to me rant for 2 hours at 3am like almost a month ago when i started playing. I'm glad that there has been an initiative to stop mean errogant behavior online... i have appologized twice to players because ive said something stupid and i can call myself on it... but the fact that you do appologize can mean alot and calling people noobs and making fun of them is rediculous. I quit 2 games allready because of that kinda stuff, Guild WarsTM and Diablo2TM Expansion... A game's value is mesured by its community so try and think before you act and keep this game from becoming worthless.
