Well, not sure how everyone else feels about it, but some of the attacking skills could be broken down.  Like Slash could be turned into Swords, Claws, and Axes, or Stab could be Spears and Daggers.  Actually, I think thats the only ones, since Bowshot cant be broken down, Throw doesn't have a single weapon that would make it break down to, and Crush could either stay the same, be renamed as Blunt, or broken down to Hammers and Maces.

While I agree it would be interesting and make things a bit more dynamic, Hroth makes a good point. That'd probably be hard to implement.

Eh, not sure.  But then again, this is a sugestion, and it wasn't supose to matter how much coding would take place.

Actually, I'm not coding anymore.  Or for the moment, anyway.  Brandon's had control of the wheel since the new version was released!

Hey, can we stay on my topic?  I'd like to see a few of the weapon skills break down to other things, like just a spear skill, or dagger.

you dont even have to take his words out of context jack.  Just say there is a person who is named "Who" and that mysticrat was questioning that this guy named "Who"  said that "chicken tastes like chicken" . So, if he didnt believe "Who" said it, he could say "Who says chicken tastes like chicken?"
LOL.

and to also be on topic, i think breaking the weapon skills down further is a bad idea. It would really just complicate things and be hard to do. Like first you'd want the different skills broken down, and if it was done, you or someone else would want different sprites to show the different breakdowns,  which would involve even more work, and im sure it would cause other problems too.

why break down the weapon skills? wouldnt it make the game less dynamic and turn the wheel backwards rather than forwards? more skills more fun yay

Well, like I said, it's just a suggestion.  Also, I think it would be a lot less complicated, because you take someone that's use to picking between sertain weapon, and they join Quest, they will probably only want to use their fav weapons, but without the break down, that might make it a lot harder for them.  So, therefore they might just leave, and play a game where they can use only their fav weapons.

I'd like to see a few of the weapon skills break down to other things, like just a spear skill, or dagger.

I think the direction we hope to go with the multiple weapon skills is to create a different set of weapon techs/skills/actions/whatever for each type of weapon. Think spells, and the kinds of things spells do, but with a weapon.

//begin tangent
That does bring up the fact that mages only need one weapon to give them equal opportunity at all spell trees, whereas fighters have to level the skill of a specific weapon. That seems a bit unfair... I suppose we'll think of something to balance that out. Making each of the spell trees more unique comes to mind...
//end tangent
return -1;
