As time passes I get more and more frustrated by people who smoke weed.  Not cause they smoke it but xo to the fact that, because they smoke it they feel in some way entitled/raequired to speak of it.  It's very mormon-esk.  Yes I know not all people don't do this but the majority seem to.

"OMG GUYS! You have to look at these tomatoes. I planted they are amazing.  You feel so full after eating them."

Ok now that I have gotten that out of my system, I mainly posted to ask if someone can explain the issue I just described to me.

As time passes I get more and more frustrated by people who are intimidated or put off by people who embrace the fact that they prefer to smoke weed and staying mostly in control as opposed to getting out of control drunk and "fitting in" with the accepted norm. It's very elitist-esque. Don't agree with what I do? That is your right... also your right to voice your opposition to it, but good old free speech, MY right to point out the flaws in your mainstream fed and formed mindset. I've said repeatedly I have a medical card from the state, do you get as upset with people who are on vicodin?

Weed > alcohol
weed > prescription pills

Yeah you go use those 2..I'll stick with WEED.

Wait, what? I thought Sora was just wondering why people have to bring it up over and over, as in "Why does the topic get thrown around so often by the people who do it when it doesn't matter." Of course, I'm of the opinion that that's exactly the sort of thing that's gonna pop up in places of general discussion like this, because it's an entirely appropriate place to talk about it (Especially if you're chronicaling* a sweet grow operation). Also, I think smoking weed is more like "fitting in with the accepted norm" than drinking is here, and I live in a state where it is still completely criminalized. I didn't know anyone still acted elitist about it.

I am some what curious as to where I stated I don't agree or dislike people who smoke weed.  I personally have no problem with people who do so or hold any thing against it.  I know a few people who if they didn't smoke they would be in jail for man slaughter.  May want to reread what I was actually trying to state as opposed to just skimming the post and taking from it what you wanted.

If I misunderstood frustration my bad, but I dislike things that frustrate me. Smiley

Ah my bad, well I can answer that part pretty easily with a little backstory.

Most people who have smoked pot for more than a few years have went from the "paranoid" high stage to a much more relaxed comfortable state of smoking. We had to live with the paranoid part of the high because of how demonized pot was by the government and mainstream media. During the 80's everyone experienced the "Just Say No" campaign and the continued misconception of pot being "the gateway drug" (alcohol is a FAR worse gateway drug, but that's a different argument). Most had to deal with a mostly closed minded opposition from parents/schools because that generation was raised on reefer madness. (which STILL is believed by some people despite it being admitted propaganda by the government)

Most people under 40 that smoke weed, which is the group I think your referring to, grew up hearing the stories of the 60s and 70s and how open smoking was during that time, yet had to live where it was much more hidden during the 80s and 90s and the whole war on drugs. This frustrated a lot of smokers because they never got to enjoy being open about their drug of choice, unlike people who liked to drink alcohol and could do so openly or pop a couple pills they got from doc.

Obviously not every person was like this, but this is the majority (about 70-75%) of smokers that I've met over 15+ years of smoking now. Now current day, FINALLY pot is being recognized as having not just medical properties, but shrinking and in some studies even eliminating cancer tumors. People can't ignore that anymore. The side effects of pot are well known and despite a ton of misinformation, the truth is finally coming out.

Who knows what will be discovered 20 years down the road now that research is opened up on what I believe is the best plant on the planet. The Simpson Oil is regarded by some as almost a miracle balm, yet we still really know NOTHING about the depth of the medical properties of this plant.

So you want to know why some potheads feel entitled/required to speak of it? It's because we had to hear how bad pot was, how there was nothing good in it for anyone, how it would only lead to coke, heroine, crack, etc., how it would make you crazy and do things you never would. We listened to all that, we tried it, we saw it was pretty much all a lie. We endured it for decades knowing that it was bullshit and it was one of the best drugs you could use, if you chose to use any drug to begin with.

Now we finally are starting down the road where we don't have to hide it anymore. People are seeing the truth and yes, we get a little of our "WE TOLD YOU SO" time. Yep, it's a drug. There are FAR worse ones that are already legal. You will have a hard time finding ANY other drug, legal or not, that has SO MANY beneficial side effects as pot, especially if you use a vaporizer or cook with it and eliminate the smoke.

Also, no other drugs seed can actually sustain the human body as food almost indefinitely.

Does that help explain it some? Smiley

What are your thoughts on edibles? Also, do you ever vape? From what I hear, vaporizers deliver cannabinols much more efficiently than smoking. Given the two options, I'd rather not directly inhale concentrated smoke into my lungs, even from a remarkably non-toxic plant. It's all full of soot and whatnot that I don't want in me. Also, can I borrow 20 dollars?

That does help me to understand it some.  I come from a household that mainly went by two sayings: don't get caught and do whatever the **** you want as long as you take of what you need to do first.  So this does help me understanding quite a bit and thanks for the knowledge.

I love edibles but my metabolism is so high that the effects don't stay with me very long. I'm not a fan of vaping, I enjoy the actual experience of smoking, kind of like a cigar, since I don't smoke tobacco anymore. It delivers the same amount of cannabinols but your lungs are able to absorb them more effectively. Just not my thing though. Yes, but the interest rate will probably kill you.

Wow that's awesome.  I wonder if we could quantity how much money has been wasted on the 'war on drugs' and not to mention how many lives lost.  Is anyone more to blame for what's going on in Mexico than the US and our ridiculous stance on considering certain chemicals illegal?
