2 drops in same mining session

At first I thought it was just a mistake and i accidentally clicked drop instead of my inventory spot but it has happened 3 times now. When mining, I occassionally get 2 drops in 1. I put the first item into my inventory and pick a different spot for the 2nd item but it never goes into the inventory it just goes away.

sadly this has been around since mining was put in, if you get 2 drops from the same mining tile it only lets you keep one of them.
