Apologies for the unclear subject, but it's the best I could come up with.
After putting 5 points into fire and 5 into water, Antipode is unlocked. However, the spell does not seem to require any investment of further points into fire to further empower the spell. Currently I have 6 in fire and 44 in water, and the spell seems to have scaled normally.
According to Fingolfin, this is not how the spell's mechanic is supposed to work. Reporting it.

its one of the "combo" spells like apoc and i don't know the lighting one.... but with apoc and the other one you need to keep like fire and shadow at the same level for the spell to get better but with antipode all you need is the spell and then to add to water, even if you add to fire it doesn't increase damage or anything along the lines of adding a skill point....

I would agree that it is seems as though it doesn't work as planned but I also think that if it did work as planned, and i needed 500 for both fire and water, I wouldn't use it because the 495 i'm not putting into that I could use on something more valuable

Yeah, I was thinking about that and it does suck for mages who use it. However had this bug been brought up earlier it could have been fixed before everyone was too heavily invested. I have a feeling most people knew that it wasn't intended to work this way and people still used it because the glitch made it worth it.

I'd say keep it as is, easier fix and no one seems to complain about it.

Well it is a pretty significant beneficial bug for mages. The maxed out spell is supposed to take 500 skill points in fire and water, they are getting that same spell for 500 in water and only 5 in fire. Thats like 250 levels worth of skill points they get to add somewhere else.

It's actually not much of an advantage at all... Antipode is just a more stable spell than hydro jet, the water spell. In my opinion, it is in no way worth 495 extra skill points. My current Hydro Jet damage is Damage: 10765 to 16147. While my current Antipode damage is Damage: 14256 to 15756.
So if the Antipode was changed to 500 skill needed in each, I would never use it.

I understand people most likely wouldn't use it if it was functioning properly, but the fact remains that you are getting to use a more stable, marginally better spell that you aren't supposed to be able to use without the expenditure of a lot more skill points. I would rather the spell be fixed and people use whatever the naturally strongest spell is.

It isn't a game changing spell really..... I see no real point to worry about it at the moment.

Well if that is how you are looking at it, none of these bugs are game changing. The Antipode one is probably the biggest one we have right now. If you wanted game changing things you should look at the suggestions board and work on the things people really want changed. As far as the current bugs go none really make a huge difference to the game right now, the only one that gives players some sort of an advantage is this one or the siphoning one.

I agree, however, I suggest making Antipode much stronger as well as making it cost the extra 495 points because at this point, fighters have an advantage

From what I see, I think there are far more bugs that cause problems than this. It's more broken than a bug. I agree with White though, to actually make it have a point you would need to increase its power.

Instead of writing them out, im just putting the numbers from your post, 4 5 7 8 10 14. Antipode, while it is a problem, does not really give an advantage to anyone. While yes it does allow them to use a spell that is no suppose to be as strong as it is with only a few points, but there are far stronger spells at that level. I dont see it as game changing, either way its pointless to argue about since it is Jouser who decides what he wants to do lol.

lol, we are just on different pages I suppose. Maybe its just because I play more, but the bugs on that list that actually come up often and are an inconvenience are 9, 13, 14, and maybe # 4 for people like hroth who go walking into the black goo for fun.
