As TD said, I would rather not have durability. That's a big issue to me.

I was thinking about that as well, 4.4.6 is the latest version I would want. I wouldnt be opposed to 4.4.0 through 4.4.6, I gave my vote to the latter one because of *32k spell damage overflow error fixed. Durability does sort of take away the feel of old quest, but then again there was a problem with too many items in the game.

Gold also built up somewhat (I promise not to give away hundreds of millions of mining gold this time!). Maybe the only way for classic to work is a complete wipe every so often. Then again, we went FOREVER without a wipe that time and the game was still extremely fun to play. I'd be good either way, as long as I have old, non-nerfed mining back and, as I said, hopefully also have entirely permanent items back.

Well I would be against wiping for the sake of wiping. There were things that were implemented later that exist in current versions that would work to remove excess gold if it became a problem.

After doing some reading, I think 4.4.2 is the way to go. It fixes everything up to durability and should be a good place to start.

Oh and one other thing, how about removing the stat cap, so we can put all 5 points in 1 stat since its a classic build? Smiley

You know how vulnerable these versions were.
That would be the biggest drawback I guess ... no server checks

Is it possible to put up the old top 50s, just for nostalgia?

Good ideas, except for the limiting reallocation one.  we want ways to enhance new players while becoming less useful for higher up players.  And don't forget that the most impoirtant thing to do is change spells back to they were when we had all these spells with differerent names for each element.  Combo element spells, effect spells, and spells that use something other than intelligence.

the idea of this is not to change anything, it is to put a classic server back online the way it was when that version was up

The point of all of this is to make it better right?  We should take some steps back then improve on those systems.

Ill agree with ares here, the point is not to make any new changes but to literally put up an old version of quest
