How about if we have a stat reset for like 1 mil and we lose 20% of our stats as a way to keep it from getting overused. That way, it doesn't conflict with stat reallocation. Would you rather have a full stat reset but lose 20% of your stats, or go through the time consuming and more expensive stat re-allocation? The numbers can be adjusted, but thats the basic idea.

I don't think anyone would actually use it. Better to reallocate a few points at a time than lost what could potentially be HUNDREDS of stat points.

It could be worth it if the % was right. If it were like 10% of your stats I would do it, just get rid of the majority of my INT and move the rest of it to somewhere useful.

But is your INT at least 10% of your total stats?
I guess it could be useful, you just have to make sure that the stat you're wanting to take out of covers the % loss.

Its close but it does cover it with some of the base and the + 1 to every stat you get per level.

First, to PiKaCHu....how do you propose keeping it from getting overused?
Second, to Fing....it sounds like you like the idea. Now I just need Dlorak's approval and Jouser's *evil laugh*

Why not just make a Stat feature and just a reset stats for a fee like we have with the skills? Believe me in the higher levels you won't want to go near it anyway

Alexis: because I want it to be more affordable. I just thought it would be nice for a more affordable price. You could sacrifice quantity for price.

I myself am one of those people that would rather keep that stats the same or pay more rather than make my character worse by losing stat points.

I think 10% is a nice solid one amount.

I agree with Alexis.
Suggestion: (Stealing this from Bloodscape) A TOTAL Stat-Reset, with cost based on your total # of stat points / Level.
On BS, you could more-or-less do it as often as you liked, as long as you had the money. And the price wasn't *too* restrictive. IIRC it was around 50k+ gold at Lv50 (max level over there was 85), which is still considerable. You wouldn't want to do it every level (without some luck), but it'd still give you the chance to fix any mistakes or try out a different build.

What do you mean? What I think of as a total reset would be stolen from every game out there. All I know is everytime I make a suggestion, I get all sorts of replies about how to keep people from misusing it. I thought I would head them off at the pass, so to speak.

The bloodscape system was a little more balanced than that at the end. It was set up for a base cost still, like he stated, but it went up in cost every time you used it if I remember right. For instance, lets say 100 million gold was rich on there. The first stat reset would only cost 500k, but then 1 mil, 2, 4, etc. It wasn't quite doubled each time but you get the idea. That way you get a couple ones cheaper to mess around but if you keep doing it your going to go broke quick.

That's the system we have right now, almost, with the skills reset. Currently as a high level player its too much. I think that we should allow complete resets in both however put a cap on it as to how high it can go after it is used so many times.

Hm well I did a skill reset around level 250 and it was 300k, I thought that was pretty fair. I don't know if the scale gets too steep higher, but at my level it seems about right.

Yeah the cost for the lower levels was really good. Its mega expensive in the higher levels which makes sense because at the higher levels you should already know what skills you want and shouldn't need to reset. What makes you have to reset though is not finding a weapon comparable to your level that is also your current weapon type. Which gives me an idea. Maybe a feature that allows you just to reset your weapon skill only? lol

Or just a general Melee Weapons skill, but give each different type of weapon a different bonus or damage type, making them more or less effective on certain enemy types.
