Yes, but theres a coating over that wood, a water proof coating, which would also prevent electric currents, lol.
God I swore I wouldn't but jesus dude, your just a moron.... seriously? Water proof coating that prevents electric currents? First off, no "coating" could prevent more than 100,000 volts. (which is roughly a lightning bolt).... on the other hand, no "coating" could protect against 54,000 °F.
Where do you get your information? Your unknowing, yet think-you-know-it-all brain? I dunno, but seriously dude... come on?
If you had a sword (a metal one mind you), and held it up during a lightning storm.... 1: unless it was like super magical, it'd melt.... and you'd get a huge shock to your arm, which would transpose into your body.... 2: No matter if you had a handle made out of pure "water resistant coating" it'd still shock the 5h17 out of you... of course, if you had that same sword (with or without the coating) and had an electrical "ground" connected to this sword (before it got the chance to touch any part of which you touched), then you'd be fine... and still probably end up with a melted heap of metal....
Also I would like to add: Real swords, they don't have "lacquer" or any coating on them, only new "unused" or "show swords" do... and if your that much of an idiot, (rayn) to go out in the middle of a lightning storm and hold any kind of metal object up into the air and scream "HIGHLANDER"....
Well then I suppose you could be a QO... (after falling off the cliff behind you, of course).
(And no, in case you thought it, I don't think any QO is an idiot, and this was just a "reaming" of and onto Rayn's.... well Rayn himself.)
Goodnight.
