Mining and level limitations

It appears the level limitations have changed in mining and we get those cannot mine those dangerous rocks at very low levels. I have 120 of mining and can't mine very
far, only up to lvl 140 mobs, is there a new set of parameters and if so would you please share them with us, the old parameters based on distance, seem not to be
in effect as I notice every time I go up a level in mining I get a few more spots to mine. Thanks

I was thinking to switching to mining but worried about this very thing. With mining capped at 500, hopefully once you get to 500 you can mine any rocks in the game. I'm worried that if i switch to my level mining will be capped and I wont be able to mine anywhere near where I fight.

I'll check on this, but if you have your level minus 20 in mining skill, you can mine jewels up to your level.

Well mining is still capped at 500, is it not? Also, that's a ridiculously large investment in mining to mine near your level. For instance, nobody fights mobs at your level, most people fight mobs 50-100 levels above their own, which give drop levels near your own. To find a jewel around your level you need to be able to mine 100 levels above your level or more.

lvl 357, mining at my level, the very highest place I can mine drops lvl 285 jewels. :\

Is mining still capped at 500? Or will there be mining in the game that requires more then 500 points invested in mining?

mining level 500+ jewels will require level 500+ mining skill...

as it sits in 5.16 is that mining will be up to 1400 at skill level 1, then each point after that gets +40 mining distance from town. mining drops increase by one level every 40 distance (same goes for monster drops).
