Any chance we could just get rid of mana jewels? Nobody in the game, including mages, wants or uses them. Perhaps we could just make them really rare to get? Im just tired to siphoning things and getting worthless mana jewels over and over again.

I think they will be useful for healing capacity in the next version, hold onto those jewels.

How much MP they give might need to change, but MP jewels will immediately have more value in 5.15.

Its not a matter of how much mp they give, warriors will never need them and mages have oodles of mp and dont need them. So its not really an issue of them not giving enough mp, its that mages already have enough and dont need more. What sort of changes are we lookin at for this coming out before april version? Now that 5.15 is out I can say mana jewels are as pointless as ever. Any chance they could be removed or perhaps made really hard to find?

I think we all agree mp mods are useless, that's why you got rid of them on items. If you don't want to get rid of them on jewels too that's fine, but could you at least make them how a much lower droprate compared to other mods? As it is I'm actually vending super ones as they won't sell. But if you can manage to balance the rarity of them right they might actually end up being worth something to those rare mages that use them.

Also, while we're on the subject of jeweling, I'd like to suggest that the gold cost of it be removed. The chance of failure is already bad enough and people generally just aren't willing to risk it right now. AFAIK jeweling was never meant to be a gold sink in the first place, it was an item sink and I think it will work much better as one if people can throw jewels at items with no costs incurred other than losing said item. I for one would definitely blow through a lot of items if that were the case. Tongue

Mages don't even use them, either. I can do about 5 or 6 battles on 1 Meditate with a staff that's 10 levels under my own. That MP mod is MORE than sufficient.

And I definitely second the removal of cost for jeweling, or at least a big decrease in the cost. It's ridiculously expensive to siphon an item and then put that jewel on a decent item and have it fail...

There is no doubt with the combination of nerfed healing (broken) and high cost and the lack of dedicated Mage Armor with mp mods there is a need for more MP but the
high break rate really doesn't allow one to chance a valuable piece of gear for the small amount of MP a jewel gives. So mana jewels are a real pest as siphoning a great
super armor can be expensive and too often rewards one with a worthless jewel. Please 2 things, lets have some dedicated mage armor with mp and dump the mana jewels. Thanks

dedicated mage armor will have to have less armor power than the rest of chest and accessory drops... Mage armor will give +MP, and have 0% chance to give +STR.

Do we leave +INT as a possible roll on the high-armor power alternatives? I say yes, then make 2/3 of the drops be the usual drops, and 1/3 be the +MP/-armor drops.

Thoughts?

even lower droprate please, not that many mages around and they won't all be willing to drop armor for mp, I say 1/5 rather 1/3.

Yeah. No. Armor > MP.

In the past dedicated Mage armor was equal to standard armor as far as Power was concerned
but had mp rather than str, ex. wizardy robes. and Archi Robes.  I remember the Mage Robes with
high int and low power, they were not at all popular, no one used them, if that is what you mean,
then it would be a waste of time. If however, you mean, a wizardy robe would have 1200 Power
and 7000 mp and no str but a variable on def, int and focus and a Mith Plate of equal level was 1300
power with str in the variable then I would be happy to see it. I would be happy to give up some
up to 125 Power at the 500 level for the added mp as it would make leveling a lot faster. I agree
1 in 5 would be fine, and a 25 Power drop per 100 levels would make them usable and I believe
desirable.

I've been playing Quest off and on sense the manual that is on the web page was up to date.  In other words for many years now.  And I have always played As a Mage.  Having some good armor and accessories that have a descent MP mod would be very handy, but I also agree that 1/5 is also good as at this time the number of Mages to Fighters is definitely favored to Fighters.  For a lot time the game has favored fighters in leveling, because the weapons and armor was geared toward them.  We just recently got the ability to PK because we could not use our Magick in PvP effectively.  If more Items such as Armor and accessories had MP instead of STR, then we may see more Mage Chars in the game.  The more equal the Mages can be in fighting mobs the more people may want to have a Mage char.

Just my thought
