Ok Well This Game is Getting to be very popular since it came out. I was Thinking wouldnt it be better if we had more servers we could connect to? So lets say the primary server goes down theres nothing to do but wait for a few hours or days depending the gravity of the problem. Or maybe just having a secondary Server.

Like I said it was just a suggetion.

no way in hell this game needs another server

UNLESS it was a totally new one,as in you had to make  new chars on it,it would be like starting again hooray

Hmm.. i haven't been online much lately, but i highly doubt that the server is reaching its player limit at any hour of the day... besides, the single server is what gives this game such a close community...

I don't think it's a good idea. I mean the one server we have is fine. But tell you what i'll suggest, how about a developer server? A server of where mappers can add maps to Quest, or maybe create new items. I aint sure if it's a good idea but it's just a SIMPLE SUGGESTION

I'm with Corre. The sense of community we have here works for us. And yeah, I doubt the player limit is getting reached. I'm all for people donating for a new server, however...but don't see any reason to branch out to other servers.

well...a developer server can be made whenever and wherever the developers need, so....that's not a great suggestion either. If you mean by developer's server that can be accessed by the public...that's not a great idea either, because if there is a bug and the server fails, then everyone who is playing would get kicked off among other things.

No no its not for the public to use. cause then there is gonna be a complete ballocks.  Grin See a developer Server is for moderators, the owner in other words QUEST STAFF and the QO can choose a mapper or two so that him/her/they can create new maps and that stuff. I kno it's not a good idea but hey! I took my chances lol Grin

We already do that on the fly, basically.  The QMS can and does run on any plain old Windows PC, and when we need to have one up for testing and development purposes, any of Brandon, Dlorak, or I can set one up in about 30 seconds and let the staff know.

For example, this new version in particular went through about 3 weeks of everyone on staff testing, plus minor testing sessions when needed beforehand.

What isn't there to understand? They can set up a dev server whenever they choose, wherever they choose, and use it.

what if we all hung out on MB's chat when the server is offline? lol

really i think the downtime of the server is soo small that this really isnt a problemin the few times the server has gone down it has been fixed within a few hours. now if the server was goiong down for months at a time that would be another story, but for now i really dont think its a problem we need to worry about Smiley

nope i dont like the idea of more than one server... maybe a backup server but that would cost brandon alot.. unless you can pay??
also, any idea what servers cost? they are pretty expensive. at LEAST several hundred dollars... start savin those pennies  Wink
