If quest is not simple enough for you, then you have problems...An a lot of the old players do still play, and most of the changes made to quest come from suggestions, so obviously the changes were wanted somewhere, by someone. Whichever direction quest goes, there will always be people who quit playing because they dont like the changes made, and personally, I came back because most of the changes. And if you actually spent some time playing the new version, and seeing all the changes, you might like it again.

How is this a suggestion? And if you dont like the New Quest it does not give you any right to go and call it a fail. I'v played for 4 years now, and I think Quest has taken a huge step, if the new people cant enjoy the game, we cant hope for the old players to keep comeing back year after year. Why not give it a second chance?

I also think you are wrong. I for example play more "difficult" rpg's since I started Quest where I didn't play them before. Quest is still fun because of it's simplicity.
Maybe you are "into it" more now and think about things the new players do not experience like formula's etc.?

Quest was an amazing game to play, and amazing lobby to come into because of its simplicity and community. I don't know where the community lies at the time but I will tell you this: The simplicity has gone to shit
Which part of doing what you used to do did you stumble on? Please elaborate. I still believe in this community...so please if you believe in your original foundation, as well as the rest of us for the next year to two years...please...I beg of you, at least make a version that's semi acceptable, because this one is horrible.
What about it is bad? It is different? Different isn't bad, so I beg of you, elaborate. We're always making new versions, they improve with input from players like you. Often the most frustrating experiences can point us to the places most in need of improvement. Show me those areas.

I'm agreeing with Rydia and Rayn on this. however, I can try to venture a guess as to what areas kydenn is referring to. First, though, I will say that any new thing takes adjustment and I don't think its a good idea to halt quest's development for the sake of retaining the old simplicity. With that said, the areas are probably...in the skills, the stat change, and possibly jeweling/mining.

I've been playing Quest for over six years now. It used to be an amazing, addictive waste of time. A way to burn seven hours in a blink without so much as a bathroom break.
It was the core game system that made it so bloody outstanding. It was simple, intuitive, and downright fun in a way that bordered on nostalgic.
It still is.
If anything, the changes to the skill/spell system have decreased the complexity of the game while retaining a sense of accomplishment for level grinding. The jeweling system is an easy "quick fix" for underleveled items/extra bragging rights for that amazing drop. Mining EXISTS. Auction house. The biggest thing Quest is lacking right now is a playerbase to make the new systems run the way they should.
So...
(The following text has been removed due to excessive vulgarity. Little timmy doesn't need to see that shite).
Dlorak...good job. Excellent job. Your hard work and dedication continues a never-ending cycle of improvement in this amazing little game. Please, keep it up.

Where do you see someone suggesting to raise exp 10X? Maybe i failed to see it. I still liked the old system of gaining skill exp in the given skill used, instead of the 2 skill points per level, because it allowed for more versatility instead of sticking to one build. Things change though, and you have to adapt.

Quest as it is now... is close to perfection...
Problems being: mishaps with spellings, details with what stuff does, as well as wrong information which all is easy (just need to change in the code the words which show up) and should be changed.... personally I HATTTTEEEE level requirement for items I feel it should be stat based; however, in quest i dont mind it seeing as it fits and goes with the game perfectly enough that makes sense and isn't to bad...
I also don't like the skill point system... be it skills can only be as high as your level, or that you only get 2 skill points per level, I'm not to sure at this moment in time.... Reason being: there is a "best build" meaning keeping your weapon skill = your level = highest damage output (even if only by a little bit), until level 500.... after which it doesn't even matter how high your skill is.... so really the best build tends to be "3 def, 2 str" and "equal weapon skill, enough heal to keep you going and the rest into contact".... Contact works well, with the 3def 2str build seeing as you have only your starting foc+2/contact level to keep you going in hits (and you never want the enemy to dodge). Quick feet doesn't work as well, seeing as it only raises your % to dodge like... .4% or something (haven't tested it fully, just a rough estimate).
I feel that to fix these problem we need: "jouser/dlorak to take a day or a litle time to go through and change spellings, (I can find some if I'm asked to, I've already points out about... 3-4 different wrong things).... either make it 3-4 skills per level, make it different skill points depending on level (ie: 1 for first 100, 2 for 100-200, 3 for 200-300, etc... [just a thought please dont do it this way though], or make it so you can get higher than your level in skills (im sure it might be hard to figure out how to do it [cause i think it's setup as lvl =< skill lvl = output, or something like that], so it works that at 500 skill you will forever hit for your max damage; however, you can get there a lot quicker that level 500 (level 249 actually with 1 more skill point) yet you won't have any other skills.... sept that which is 1.
Another good thing would be to add quests... you could add some with the bosses or to find "quest items"
IE:
Woman in the dungeon entrance tells you about Gaar, and instead of asking to leave him alone or w/e tells about a ring he stole from her (or she could stay, and tell about an amulet which was stolen from her from the guy deeper in the dungeon), you bring her the ring and you get a ONE time bonusof 100k exp or something.... an you lose the ring.
Just some thoughts
well i'm drunk and about to passout.... thanks for reading my ideas

I like the stat req idea, that would be nice, but then we have mods...and then some people are going to not like it.

Personally i loved the step forward made by the quest developers. One thing is because you get to look forward to something rather than just getting lvl 8 equips/supers then jus grind to death for the lvl. With the new system you can actually be stronger than those higher levels by jeweling equips or because of your build that the new version offers a wider range of them. The only thing lacking for me are the people to make Quest the Quest we all came to love and be addcited to
