Why was damage proportionate to HP ever removed?  I quite enjoyed doing less/having less done to me as HP went down.

Why? because with absolute damage reduction a lot of attacks slipped below the 1-damage line.

as far as your realism goes a monster hanging on to his last thread of life should not be able to inflict as much damage to me as when he catches me off guard wandering around. Ill agree with Sora, i never saw the reason for removing it from hp, it made sense. I think a creature that ive bludgeoned 15 or 20 times should do less damage to me, even if he can only muster 1 dmg

I liked the old way better too, it made using zerk sometimes actually useful. Smiley
