There was a problem with people making a clan, using stat editors, and getting items illeagally. They would then store items in the clan, add a different char to the clan, and when their haxxored char got b& they could still reap the rewards of their efforts.
Though i dont exactly agree with the idea, i can see where it comes from and why its done. The most simplest way to keep your items safe is dont have other people in your clan. Dont put your items in a clan owned by someone else. Dont put items in a clan that other people can access. Once you do, its free game and you need to rely on other people's honesty.
