lyr, (or jonny if hes using her account again), i got those numbers from the spell list out of battle, not from testing them. remember how in the old system if u looked at ur spell list out of battle it told u how much mp each heal spell you knew cost and how much hp it healed? (like healing spirit was 150hp for 30 mp). i got the numbers from there, so based on previous versions i assumed thats the amount they healed for everyone since before healing spirit healed the same amount for everyone.

It is jonny, aye. I'm not able to look at the spell list right now since the bug on my character has gotten worse this version and I cannot log him at all now, so I couldn't say. I would however assume that the displayed amount for heals is what you currently get. Try and throw on some random shop +int items and see if the displayed amount changes.

ok, so i changed from my fighter to my mage and the numbers did change so that i was getting a lot more hp for my mp on my mage, but the lower number spells are still more efficient. like heal 1 was 1mp for 47hp, heal 2 was 2mp for 50mp, etc. with the mp going up each time but the hp not increasing that much. so the lower spells are still more efficient

I wuz wondering about the new pk system. Since i'm a mage i don't really need to add to dex to hit mobs and i've tried pks in tourney and it shows that i hit 0 to someone 70 lvls below me lol..well he did say that i wuz hitting for much more but didnt really see how much wuz just killing him from time to time. So i guess a miss would constitute for a 0 damage or mebbe magey damage jus sux for pk at the moment? lol ^^

More: Lightning vs Fire for fighters. I have my fire at 16, my lightning's at 44. I find lightning very useful but not sure if it relies on INT or how damage might be determined. Also, fire's supposed to be good since it doesn't rely on INT, but Fire bolt 3 does 0 damage against all higher than level 2's. I understand that fire unlike lightning has to deal with defense or whatever. Shouldn't Lightning be more useful to a fighter than fire? the only thing that could change that is if Lighting is based on INT which. Those two have more checks than balances, I think. Fire is independent of int, but lightning ignores defense or whatever. This isn't really a question, but please respond to whatever.

just an update on what i was saying about the holy heal spells: the hp numbers each spell heals are a lot higher with my mage, but they are still really close, with heal 1 being the most efficient.
as for what celestia said, my fire bolt 3 still does damage against monsters with player lvls around 40, although it isnt much. like my firebolt 3 at lvl 45 does 93 damage. if any monster has a (-93) or higher negative number, then that fire spell does 0 damage.

(actually lyr for once) Celestia: Fire is barely affected by int but has high base damage, which increases per rank, therefore using rank 3 is obviously not the best method if you're fighting mobs above lvl 30 or so. Please see the 'Observed Formulas' thread for a spreadsheet of base damages, it's not complete by any means but we're working on it. Hoya: Could I get some more numbers on heals please? Not just how much each rank heals and the mp cost but your modded int values at the time? Will try and work out a formula. EDIT: As a mage, I can attest that for any spell school, for you to actually deal good damage with it, you need to spend the vast majority of your skill points in it to get the best ranks. Therefore if you're lvl 45 you should be using around rank 8 firebolt, not 3. I'm kinda hoping that gets better at higher levels though.

my mage has +20 int mods (from the ice pillar im currently using), with a base int of 183 at lvl 47 heal 1 heals 53hp for 1mp heal 2 heals 56hp for 2mp heal 3 heals 59hp for 4mp heal 4 heals 63hp for 5mp heal 5 heals 66hp for 6mp heal 6 heals 70hp for 8mp
i havent gotten past heal 6 yet because i only have holy for healing, and have 30 fire and 30 shadow at the same time. but what i said before still holds true, heal 1 is the most efficient since it heals 53x the mp used for it right now, while heal 6 only heals about 8.75x the mp used for it. so i assume the higher the heal number gets, the less and less efficient its going to get.

Aye, I'm thinking the only way this will make any kind of sense is if heals have a cap and you need higher ranks to get past that...but I haven't found one yet. As it stands it seems rather silly to get any more than 5 skill points in holy. :\

I said skill points, not exp points. Good comprehension skills.
