If you want to fill your MP with a potion in battle and there is not enough in your flask to fill your MP bar, it heals your HP.
My husband was complaining about this yesterday, and it just happened to me too.
Sorry if this has been posted already. I didn't see it.
*also* maybe not a bug but, you can't heal your MP with a potion outside of battle. You have to meditate?
@MP filling HP:
I noticed this happening a while back and meant to bring it up (being one of the only people who actually uses potions) however, I didn't notice that it also healed the HP. I only made note that it took the flask and did not increase MP.
To duplicate:
1) Equip any potion with a number (or remaining number) less than your remaining MP.
2) Enter battle.
3) Lose health in battle. (Not required, but you require lowered health to notice the HP)
4) Use MP Heal via a hotkey or the drop down menu.
Result:
Flask is depleted and deleted.
MP is not healed.
HP is recovered.
This is both completely useless and annoying at the same time. Then again, I never use the flasks up...
Edit#1:
As a misc note, when you do this, it also displays the message that you caught the mob off guard and get the first turn. Interesting... I wonder if those without DEX would be hit in this situation and possibly die. I also wonder if a Dex character could get a free double hit doing this...
Edit#2:
HP is only recovered to the HP you started the battle with. This makes sense with the above. If you use a flask with 200 power to MP heal, but you entered the battle with 91/8000000 HP and lose four health during the battle, you'll only heal back to 91. This means that an almost empty flask can count as a full heal in a bad situation... Not a nice thing to think about, as it can be abused.
EDIT#3:
On second thought, this glitch probably causes MP to be reset to the value you entered battle with as well. Will check that when I next login.
@MP heal out of battle:
This would not only be pointless, but it would make it far too easy to just use duelers essences near by a shop where you can level. It would turbo charge newbie mage leveling rates further than it already does. While it may be a bug of some sort that it has no effect, it probably isn't. You can just MP heal after depleting some of a mob's health anyway, or meditate on the map.
