Im on a school computer, i cant install anything, i have the file on my mem stick with everything else... usually it will work... but this time its fubaring on me...

tried installing quest on the computer, failed installing all the dll's.
tried copying the ocx file to the windows folder, didnt let me...

Jouser any chance the client could be made to look for the file in the quest folder? or maybe have the installer make a folder called dll, and have all the dll type files go there?

# The directory from which the application loaded.

That should always be the first place the OS searches for libraries....should be working...

Create a new profile on the computer and see if it lets you choose to give yourself admin rights Jon.

i cant, they got those things locked down pretty tight... you need to log on through the network, it wont let you log on otherwise... as for creating a new account im not an admin, i prolly cant, plus the logon runs you past the network, if your student number and pass dont check out it boots you... they train IT people, they gotta know how to prevent em from screwing with the system.

from what i gather it cant register DLL's that may effect the windows directory or the registry or something...

I also couldnt install several other of my programs, including winrar. It sucked.

download the file from google or wherever, type in 'system32' in the search bar at the bottom of the windows thing, put the file into there, open command prompt in administratior and type 'regedt32 'name.dll'

thats the easiest and best way around it, if that doesnt work you cant register it, period
