The topic of using the "/ignore" function in game has come up a few times as of recently.  Some players don't use it to provoke altercations while some just simple don't know about it.  My idea is basically to add buttons next to names in the "Name List" in game that you can simply click or un-click to add or remove people from your ignore list.  Below is a link to a picture I have made to show what i am proposing.

I guess I'm confused as to how this would be different than using the /ignore function?

I'm not necessarily for or against at this point, but just wondering if this is where we want to put our development time, since the function already exists?

The main idea behind this is that if there is a visual counterpart to the /ignore function people would be more inclined to use it.

Yes, plus it would be easier to see who you have ignored and who you dont....

Sometimes, not naming any names, some of us, again, not being specific as to who im talking about, might forget who they have ignored.... i just dont know who might have that problem...

Okay, again, I'm not for or against. I don't see the harm in this, but I also don't necessarily see the need. This is one of those things I'd probably leave dependant on how easy it is to do, and how much other, more important stuff, is being worked on.

I 100% agree with what your saying Tina.  I had this thought when we where talking about in Quest who much stuff could be resolved if people would just use ignore as opposed to bringing every little thing to a QO.  Just thought I would bring this kinda idea to the table in case people liked it and others had time to add it at a later date is all.

perhaps instead of like checkboxes, you could have like mini speakers... and when you mute the person it puts an X over the speaker :)

uhh...

The idea would be cool, but the box at the right for user names isn't cool. That box is a "out of the box" kind of object and it limits us greatly as to what we can do with it... however, they sure are easy to use for basic functionality and cost us no time at all to write and minimal time to use (hence we chose them). just use /ignore... maybe in the way future...

Perhaps change color of ignored people? would that be an easier option?

Okay, I don't understand. Is not knowing who you ignored really an issue here? Grab a sticky note, put it next to your computer. Make yourself a list. I gotta say this seems to be something that would waste time and resources that could be used on game enhancing things. That's my opinion.

Isn't it game enhancing then? Smiley

"/ignore" should display the ignore list.  If it doesn't do this already we'll add this feature.

far as i know there is no visable "ignore" list. If theres 20 players online (haha ya right) and you ignore 5 people at random, theres no way to find out whos ignored and who is not.

unless i have been missing somthing for like 2 years
