Yeah... not like its a big suprise  Shocked  that im asking for dex.... since INT got added... why shouldnt Dex Ehh?

simple enough... if Dex > INT and STR   then Dex takes over....

it makes sense... if you have alot of dex... you swing faster... the faster the swing... the harder the impact... the harder the impact....the more damage you deal.

not necessarily...... if you had to boxers in the same ring, one light and fast, the other slow and strong, the light and fast one wont hit for much, but the slow and storng one will hit for alot more.

but im doing different examples.... like a golf club and a golf ball.... it isn't how strong you swing the club... it's how fast you swing it.... i saw it on a commercial and a guy drove a ball 200 yards with a putter

mmkay... why if you swing so much faster... would the hit not be harder?? sure brute str adds more to the damage done.... but so does the speed of which you attack something...

besides... if mages can have INT why can't Dexters(haha) have Dex?? i mean seriously

I dont mind, just doesnt make sense to me, maybe in PvP duels they can hit more before the other can, due to dex differences.... maybe, not sure if that would work either.

Dex chars, arent known for PK, or PvP really, they are known to just destroy mobs...

Exactly.  That's why they are made.

it can work ... IF
we take weight into it
AND str will be a factor

DEX is a measurement of speed never of power like STR or INT

Also, making all modifiers count for something different will make the game much more fun
If it doesn't matter what you raise, you will  be able to PK anyway ...
then what's the fun?

Exactly.  That's why they are made.

Mages were even MORESO into that category, yet you were pushing for change.

Just because you don't have a dex char, it's a non-issue?

Mukan, I have a dex char, I dont want this in the game, maybe it factor in to something, but not just dex>str,  maybe itll affect something.

I was talking purely to AJ, because she was SO deadset on getting mages PVP/PK able, yet someone suggests it for dex chars and she tries to shoot it down.

Bias much?

no, Mages have every right to PK, there damage is based off there int, so should factor int when they hit other people, Dex chars damage is based off of str, so it should factor in str

Think logically.
If somebody spends all their time lifting weights, they are strong and powerful physically.
If somebody spends all their time learning magics, they will easily cast stronger spells.
If somebody trains to be faster, they will run faster.  They won't be physically strong, but will inflict the damage they do more often.

Perhaps the extra speed to their attack should help a little, but making them insanely powerful, giving them the powers of strength as well as the ability they have OUTSIDE of PK, where they can very quickly gain levels since they aren't hit as often, would be too powerful.

Your logic is wrong anyway..

They don't train "to run fast," they train to be insane berserkers inside battle, and when someones swinging a sharp object, the force behind it isn't the same as boxing.

The faster a sharp object is being swung, the more damage it will do, the comparison to boxing is irrelevant.

if you swing a sharp object at some ones neck, either way, if its sharp enough, it'll cut straight threw it.  Speed doesnt always give you power.

then more obvious would be that high dex would have the properbility to dodge in pvp
or to hit twice in pvp

right?

Ok from what i understood, dex was somthing like agility...

American Heritage Dictionary - Cite This Source dex·ter·i·ty   (děk-stěr'ĭ-tē)  Pronunciation Key
n.
Skill and grace in physical movement, especially in the use of the hands; adroitness.
Mental skill or adroitness; cleverness.

So because your soo agile, you have the chance to hit first. Its not speed per say, but skill. And trying to get that to work effectively in PK would be.... difficult. Because its not how "fast" your hitting, its how "well" you hit. Like the difference between a carpenter using a hammer and a noob using a hammer. The nail still goes in, but its how accurately the nail gets in, how bent it becomes, the placement, time taken, dents in the surrounding wood from misses, etc.

And if you have JUST dex and no STR, your not going to "slaughter monsters"... you would get first hit, but it would mean nothing as you would hardly touch em. Like the boxer ananogy.

Nice try tho Smiley

Why not actually being able to dodge/parry in Pvp
or getting 2 first hits...and then in pk the higher dex,
the faster you can attack...you know..it takes a quick pause
after you attack...maybe it cant be set to be quicker...i dont know bout' that stuff...
Anyway....anyone gets where im getting to?   :/
