Ok, I'm going to name afew suggestions, to cut down on posts, and threads... If a QO tells me to break them down in seperate threads, I will, but until that happens, here are my suggestions...
1) Status effects - adding status effects will make the game more challenging, and also could implement new items that ppl would continue to buy.
2) Resistances - this would also make the game more challenging for mages. Have monsters be resistant to a certian type of magic, but also weak against some too.
3) Elemental Weapons - This goes with the resistance suggestion, but applies to warriors... have some weapons that do different elemental damage. This way the resistance doesn't only effect mages.
4) Enchanter - Have there be a NPC enchanter that people would have to pay, or give certain items to to add elemental damage to their weapon.

These are all my suggestions for now, and I dont want anyone to say - That would be a lot of coding, or to complicated... Well, here's news for you... its a suggestion, not a demand...

Ooh. Resistance would be interesting.  No more consistant spell-pressing for Aces.  Might wanna have the for melee too.

These obviously unarmored animals are weak against crush and earth magic, but resistant to Holy and shadow!
These blobs are weak to fire and slash, but resistant to water and stab!

Eh, it'd more likely get your dagger stuck or even your arm if you imagine the blobs like I do.

I was thinking more like stand-alone jell-o, maybe a little thicker.

ok, in that case, yes stabbing would seem very inefficient

Love all four of 'em. Just don't push resistances the way Blizzard did on Diablo 2's Hell difficulty. It really was hell Sad

eh, never got to Hell on Diablo Tongue got bored trying to lvl in Nightmare... also the resistance to weapons wouldn't be as effective since weapons need a certain skill lvl to hit every time, where as spells just need higher lvl to not fizzle... plus its easier to train spells(or at least in my opinion) and a lot harder to keep lvling different weapon types... thats why I added the enchanter idea too ^^

Yeah, but you guys only have to worry about training skill level so you don't miss, and eventually have double damage everytime, while mages need it to actually gain spells.

only til lvl 75 or so, after that you just go so they won't fizzle, after 120 skill is completely and utterly useless. At least weapon skills have some point to them :/

You have no clue how slow heal training is, do you?  It only works up to level ten, then it's much, much faster to just attack.  Plus, you guys get your attacks for free.

why do you think you do more dmg -_- lol >.>

it's like on D2....  warriors do about 4k dmg if your good.... and a lightning mage does up to 42k dmg
and in D2 if your a good mage... you have mana regen which means you won't lose it that fast... and you have a mana shield...
and you have a thunder aura...   Mages have been rigged throughout games forever >.> bout time they actually made it so that a warrior wins in a fight.... JEEZ

No such thing as a mana shield, thunder aura, etc. here.  Plus, how many times do warriors there hit to a mage's spell, and are they the same level?  Plus, how much more HP does a warrior have, and please tell me exactly how much MP a warrior uses at all.

No, but you can smack the guy til near-dead with whatever you normally use, then pull out the magic skill you want to lvl, that works great up until about lvl 75-80, when it gets faster to just smack things with the spell you want...although still easier to do it the first way until you're sure of no fizzles.
You can't beat a guy up with a bow then suddenly pull out a hammer for the last shot.

Haha..so true, lyr Tongue
But in the end...Mages are supposed to be more powerful than warriors. Imagine bringing a knife to a gun fight. I'm sure the knife guy(warrior) wouldn't be able to defeat the gunner(mage), even though the gunner could be a weak little guy. Warriors are always going to be weaker than mages simply because Brute Force is not enough to defeat the Mind. This may sounds like it's going into a philosophical aspect, but I'm really trying to keep it in context Tongue

In the end, though...Warriors are just so much cooler Smiley

I do it all the time, it's 100 times harder to lvl a mage from scratch than it is to lvl a warrior...when you have supers that is, all my mages get to at least 200 by smacking at things with a hammer...and killing it with a lvl 1 spell, so that when they're big enough to actually use magic, they have some spells to use Smiley
