   I believe that Mages in PK for the next version should be a little more different than warriors by making it more like fighting a monster.

    Instead of making mages exactly the same except INT replaces STR, how about making mages in PK not depend on HP, but the attacks take up MP? This would make mages more valuable in PK, and would partially make up for the extreme disadvantage of not having INT mods, but not without it’s own disadvantage; losing precious healing MP.

   Also,  Mages rely on High MP, not high weapon #; why should PK be different?  How about instead of using the weapon # for damage, we use half of the MP bonus of your weapon instead?  That way, it wouldn’t be totally outrageous, but it’d be decent and we wouldn’t see mages wearing melee supers in the tournies.

well, every level you get 5mp, then you can add to that, and every level you can only give 3 hp, also, mages weps give them a few thousand mp.  So that would put alot of power in a mage.

that is very true say a mage had a WoL on that would be 2000mp (minimum) so we would have to atleast 2000damage just to get to your hp and that is no were near fare

but they would be using MP, whereas a warrior doesn't need MP in order to attack and the fact that one cannot simply "heal" MP makes this a lot more diffiicult. knowing most mages, though...they have little HP to defend themselves. This sounds like an excellent plan, but still rough around the edges Smiley

This is as close as mages are going to get to equality in pk for now. Maybe some other time down the road there can be more refinement.

even half mp mod would put them under a fighter, ive done ALOT of math, I found if you did (INT+all of modded mp from weapon)/30 it would be close to ttl str/20. this is based on the arch wand, and *oL's. so my theory is, if you made ttl str/20,like it is now, and (INT+Mod mp from wep)/30 it would be closer.

well, every level you get 5mp, then you can add to that, and every level you can only give 3 hp, also, mages weps give them a few thousand mp. So that would put alot of power in a mage.
I really didn't mean direct damage where 1 MP/1HP.  More like, a certainpercentage of your total MP to do the damage you do from the equations.

... Get the hell out of my head.

It isn't roomy in there you know. lol

I see what AJ is saying.... this would limit the number of attacks a mage has, whereas a fighter could pop a few pots, and wait the attacks out. I dont know, the whole system i think is generally going to be a test run for when everything gets remade and a wipe occurs... we seen it comin for a long time, but better to get some problems worked out then to try it all "cold turkey"

Rath, please to try and post on topic every once in a while.  Anyways, I think the idea is a good start, you cant just jump in and fix everything you have to have smaller things to finish so you can figure out the bugs for the bigger one.
