i know its not what your in favor of but i think itd be easier to implement.  and since supers are rarely loaned or sold to newbs, you could just make them exempt from this.

So, what seems to be best here, although I don't have a clue how it would be done..

If you find a rare, it shouldn't have a level requirement, but if you are traded a rare, it will have a level requirement.

Basically saying, the second you trade an item away it becomes level-required.

Supers exempt from this rule, of course. Also, items transferred through clans would be exempt, I suppose.

well kind of, but instead of once its traded, there is a level requirement, you just wouldn't be able to receive it unless you were of the right level.  Also I would like a super system implemented too to deter people of low levels from borrowing a super they don't deserve Smiley

Well, on supers, no one is going to lend a true blue newb a super. Usually if someone is borrowing a super, they probably have one themselves and are just borrowing that particular one beacuse it may be more useful to them. (IE: a fighter guy starts a mage character and borrows a Wo* to help him level, and his fighter has, say, Blo*)

I'm not convinced we want to make this part of the game mechanics...

People give away rares cause they have lost their value. I guess that is the main problem we have to address...

and this would help, if you know someone cant use something, why give it to them? especially if they should have a bit of money by the time they can? i agree its not a perfect fix, but it does seem better than doing nothing.

Ok, see my topic i just posted, i went through re-mapping item workings. This, i feel, will be better than this suggestion, and be a good addition. Adds a gold sink, n stuff... must sleep.... read the topic, i think it might be better, and achieve much of the same thing.

see... but if we did this... we would be making the game just like all other rpgs out there... and this game wasn't made specifically for playing as an rpg... it was just something to do while we chatted to friends online...

Also... if we did do this... we would probably add a level limit just like on all other games.. since it takes so long to level
