OK I know this has already been suggested, but it is slightly different and I'm am in great favor of this with all of the noobs over the last few weeks.  Before you make a judgment, hear me out.  I would like an item level system to only allow people of certain levels to BUY rares.  If you already have a super or item or such, you can use it (like for a second char or if you find one before the buyable level, clan transfers to your other char would be allowed, but not to others).  I'm sick and tired of all the noobs coming on and within the first 50 levels they are whining about wanting a level 8 and then whining about wanting a super at level 100.  I propose a system:
level 50- buy level 3,
level 75- buy level 4,
level 100- buy level 5,
level 120- buy level 6,
level 150- buy level 7,
level 200- buy level 8
(just some rough numbers thrown in there)

**This would just be for Trading/Recieving rares, i'm not proposing another shop full of rares.  It would still be a free trade environment, just have level requirements in order to purchase/trade for certain rares.**

And have a system for buying supers as well.  I'm not sure how hard it would be to implement this into the game but I think it is a good idea.  It would also help the economy because rares of all levels would be getting sold and the prices would go up because the noobs could pay more from the money they have been saving up.  Just an idea Smiley sorry if you all hate it.  I'm just sick of people playing for years to get where they are and then noobs catching up in a few months from people giving them rares and supers or selling them obscenely low.  Tell me what you think

Wait, you can only BUY rares if you're a certain level, but you can give them away to anyone still?

I don't see how that makes any difference.

I dunno, White_Knight... I think this problem stems from the disproportionate power of rares in contrast to their high availability. By offering the purchase of rares, we have to give prices to them, rather than letting the market decide. Free markets are a wonderful thing.

new players will always complain about wanting more for less. There is no solution to it.

to clear up the "giving items away". By buying the item i mean trade from other people, if the item is given to you, you still have traded it therefore it wouldn't be possible to just give the item to a noob.  It could be made a banable offence if you clan transfer an item to a noob or something. However, if you made another char, you could clan transfer items to your new char.  This is why I'm not sure its possible because i don't know how you could limit trading of certain items based on your level.  It sounds very difficult.

@Dlorak, I don't mean just making another building where you can buy and sell rares.  It would still be a free trade environment, I would just like to limit the items you can trade/trade for depending on your level...do you see what I'm trying to say?

I know people like borrowing supers from people, this would practically put an end to this unless you were at the level to do so, in which case, i believe you should be able to because you have worked so hard.

Does your idea boil down to level requirements on items?

i dont think thats what hes going for, especially with the switiching between 2 of your own chars parts. i think its a lvl recquirment for items that you(in some fashion) didnt find.

but he is saying instead of putting a lvl requirment on each item just on each lvl of item and as for the your charecters can use them i dont see that being possible cuase you sould just say that the newb is your alt and how would the server know its your alt??

well i think it would take survilaence from the qo's and players, plus a bit of the honor system-i know rath this'd be a problem for you, hence your last post.

dude im seriously not trying to arguee or get into it with anyone anymore so im letting that slide and it would take a LARGE amount of Honor and most likely like (almost)all other suggestions here it wont happen so no point in argueing over it

@Dlorak, it is somewhat a level requirement.  However, only a requirement on trading the item.  If its possible, you would have to be a certain level to TRADE the rare.  If you found it however, or transferred it from another char, you could use it whenever you get it... So to answer your question, it is a level requirement, to some extent.

@HR, its a requirement to TRADE the item, not to use it.  If you find it, go ahead and use it at whatever level you are.  and if you say the noob is YOUR alternate to clan transfer an item to, most people know who's chars are who and why would you try that hard to just give a noob an item?

I am just trying to stop noobs from walking into the game and wanting to be at the same strength and have the same items as the people who have been here for years.  Noobs now just walk right in with level 8's and think they own the game.  I don't see how this game can even be fun for noobs who just basically get whatever they want and then whine about things like weapons not being strong enough and such.

Today there was a noob who was telling me that if they didn't have a level 8, they would be at an unfair advantage to the stronger people in the game.  Mind you he has not even been around for a week.  I already can tell that he will want a super in another 2 weeks or so because his level 8's are only getting him 2% exp per kill.

I don't really think you guys understand what I am saying.  I'm talking about a level requirement to TRADE/RECEIVE rares from other people, not yourself.  If you already have a character with level 8's or noslins or something, just clan transfer your items to your new chars. That would still be allowed.

Either make it a banable offence (Which i doubt would happen), or just make it a known rule to go by and rely on the honor system.  Your probably not going to catch all of them, but it would deter a lot of this from happening and hopefully people would agree/make this work.  I think it would be worth a shot, and if it doesn't work or causes to much debate, then just toss it.

o i know just have it were u cant use a weapon till a certain lvls. Supers for any lvl for people making new characters. Reg rares for lvl requirements so we can get them to more value.it will make new people look forward to higher lvls aswell making the game more exciting

bear, thats not what i was proposing, but i would also be in favor of that...the only problem with that is if you want to make another char, you cant start with a super.
