Don't see why not. If weapons somehow add to defense, they should be able to add to DEX.

Um. That's pretty much what Kyo was going for. Weapons magically add defense already, why can't they make you faster?

Read more closely next time.

they dont magicaly add def its a natual def if somone attacking u and u dont have a shield what are u going to do? put ur weapon in the way. thats a form of def. but it doesnt make sence to have a heavy weapon and then it makes u faster. try picking up a sledge hammer and being faster with it than normal

Ergo, mods are tuned to the weapons they affect. Go read my post on weapon mods, it makes a little more sense than the current mod system.

EDIT - Oh, and whether or not a sword is magical, you can still use it to block stuff. So why don't all swords add defense? That's what I was aiming for, they have a magical effect that increases defense.

I may not be the brightest kid out there.... but wouldnt a weapon make you slower  Huh

Axes.... HA! i'd like to see u try to move faster than u normally do with a battle axe in ur hand...
Sword... Ehh... depends on the blade... but even if the blade was made of aluminum... it still adds weight to you..
Bows... This i can understand... bows are lightweight and depending on the number of arrows u have... its pretty light... Also you shoot from far away with these... making these add dex probably wouldnt be a problem..
Hammers.... ok we aren't talking about a dang tool hammer thats about 7 inches long are we?? thats just stupid and wouldn't do crap to monsters... we are talking about a huge arse warhammer.... ur gonna be slower... trust me...
Wand... this is another weapon that needs dex mods... they are light weight and could easily help the dex problem some mages have because lack of hp and lack of dex...
Javelins... Not that light... trust me... i've thrown one... and if u go in a fight and use 5-8 attacks each times... not exactly gonna be that light... but yeah these could add dex mods if u had one javelin... and went and got it every time you threw it.... if that was the case why dont we just make it a spear...
Armor... >.> sure... a cloth i can understand... platemail... Po*'s.... DON't think so...
Daggers... of course u need dex on a dagger... nearly all daggers are light-weight and if u implemented the thief sprite... Dagger+Thief sprite = you're gonna be pretty fast...

I think i covered all the supers... and maybe one day they will add axes.... but this all pretty much add's to the modifications on weapons needed to be done: suggested by Azmodon...

They need a real life speed.... u aren't gonna swing a giant hammer as fast as you are a sword... its just plain stupid..

So i totally agree with what Ares said... it would be stupid to be able to swing a sword as fast as a battle axe... they need to implement weapon speed and change the power on weapons and help balance it out... cause it isn't balanced....
Hammer = strongest    Blade = medium in all    Javelin = MP    Bow = HP   Dagger = medium in all   Protectors add all sorts

Yeah, weapon speed is one thing, and considered in my post on base item type stats.

Then there is magic. You can make a hammer as light as a feather and enchant it to make the person wielding it as graceful as a ballet dancer, albeit such enchantments are rare on axes/hammers, that is also considered. Now let's just see a QO give me a straight answer so I can either program it myself and send it in or see it done.

Ummm ya i been sayin this should be added for a long time...

There should be mods for everything.... hey i thought of somthing,...

Since you guys seem to want place specific items, why not make some items that have mods for different things, and where they would be found. and what they are named, and make some images that conform with the rest of quest's images...

anyways ya dex/int/whatever mods would be cool
